My almost-there-4 year old , these days and Me.
When she does not get her way, after the drama and the eloquence of cries (I better appreciate the cries, I need to be live), she reprimands me with ‘Just sit quiet for 2 minutes. lets try’ (my words said to her , some hours earlier).
To her surprise, I sit quiet.
This is called Mother Win. Which 40-year old Mother of a 4-year will give up the luxury of 2 quiet minutes?
Then, sometimes, she says ‘Go to the other room and come out, when you are ok’.
This is called Mother Jackpot.
Bliss in Mother Language is ‘2 entire minutes , with no one around’.
Now, if someone could just give me a steaming , hot cup of tea after that……..that would be Mother-stretching-her-luck. And hence, I stop.
